BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania, May 19, 2020 — The Celtic Cultural Alliance announces its Youth Celtic Fiddle Competition to be held on September 26, 2020, at the Charlie Brown Ice House, Bethlehem, PA, at Celtic Classic Highland Games and Festival. This unique fiddle contest primarily focuses on Celtic fiddling styles, including Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, Shetland, and Galician. Two age categories divide the contest, and monetary prizes are given to the top 3 in each division. Judges are professional fiddle players who perform at Celtic Classic. Registration for the event will be collected at Celtic Classic and admittance to the event is free for the audience.
On September 27, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Celtic Heritage Hollow stage, a Celtic fiddle workshop for youth will be held at Celtic Heritage Hollow at Celtic Classic Highland Games and Festival. D’Arcy Furniss of the Glengharry Bhoys is the instructor for this class. Registration is free but required.
