Community event will feature release of 2015 neighborhood resident survey results.
WHAT: Allentown Promise Neighborhood will host its second annual State of the APN event on Wednesday evening.
APN Manager Amanda Raudenbush and PNLV Data Manager Ewuradjoa Dawson-Amoah will share with attendees the findings of this past summer’s APN Resident Survey. The door-to-door survey captured information about housing, education, healthcare, and other important quality of life issues affecting downtown neighborhood residents.
The Resident Survey also gave residents the opportunity to talk to APN staff about the interests and concerns they have for the neighborhood, and provided the organization with the information it needs to determine how best to assist residents moving forward.
Survey result highlights include:
- 74.1% of APN residents rent their homes
- 41.9% of students participate in extracurricular activities
- 63.7% of children under the age of 5 are not enrolled in an early childcare or preschool program
This free event is open to the general public to attend. Light refreshments will be served. Attendees will also be entered into a raffle to win donated prizes, including children’s bicycles donated by Bikes for Bill, local restaurant gift certificates, and more.
WHEN: January 20 from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Allentown Art Museum 31 N. 5th St., Allentown
WHO: The nonprofit Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley unites partners, residents and leaders from various sectors to ensure the success of children from birth through career. http://www.promiseneighborhoodslv.org/.
